SAN FRANCISCO and WASHINGTON, D.C. — March 30, 2021 — Newday Impact, a San Francisco-based asset management and financial technology company which brings authentic responsible investing to those concerned about having an impact, has partnered with EarthEcho International. The announcement coincides, as well as highlights, with Water Conservation Month and World Water Day on March 22. EarthEcho International is an environmental nonprofit organization founded on the belief that youth have the power to change our planet. Established by Philippe and Alexandra Cousteau in honor of their father, Philippe Cousteau Sr., and their grandfather, legendary explorer Jacques-Yves Cousteau, their mission is to build a global youth movement to protect and restore our ocean planet.
Newday Impact and EarthEcho International are teaming up to provide education to millions of young people and other responsibly minded investors. As a part of this partnership, Newday Impact and EarthEcho will be working closely with the SIFMA Foundation to provide sustainability education to more than 600 thousand students each year and the 12 thousand teachers who are a part of the SIFMA Foundation’s National Stock Market Game. Newday Impact has provided the Newday Sustainability Index to the National Stock Market Game since 2018, and over this period of time almost two million students have participated.
Additionally, the EarthEcho team will be providing Newday Impact with important insights regarding ocean health and sustainability issues which will be used in Newday Impact’s investment portfolios. One of the portfolios focuses on ocean health. Newday Impact contributes a percentage of revenues tied to the Ocean Health investment portfolio to EarthEcho.
“We are excited about this partnership,” said Philippe Cousteau. “I have been involved in the responsible investment movement for a long time and believe strongly that it is central to building a sustainable future. This partnership will allow us to enhance our work and continue to build a hopeful, thriving future for our ocean planet and each other.”
“We are thrilled to announce our partnership with EarthEcho and Philippe Cousteau,” said Doug Heske, CEO of Newday Impact. “As a leader in sustainability work and youth education, Philippe carries on in the spirit of his father and grandfather. We are proud supporters of their work and look forward to making meaningful financial contributions to their work that they and only they can do.”
Kurt Lieberman, President and Chief Investment Officer of Newday Impact added, “It is a privilege to be working with Philippe and EarthEcho. The perspective and guidance from their team is incredible. Their team’s deep expertise enables a portfolio better connected to the objective of healthy oceans and enables us to seek deeper impact.”
