Happy Earth Day! Earth day is an annual event celebrated around the world on April 22nd meant to foster an appreciation of the earth’s environment and bring awareness to the issues that threaten it. First celebrated in 1970, Senator Gaylord Nelson of Wisconsin is credited as the founder of this day as he brought environmental issues onto the US national agenda. Largely due to the momentum created from the first Earth Day, the early 1970s saw the passage of the most important environmental legislation in US history with the Clean Air and Clean Water Acts.
The theme for Earth Day 2022 is to Invest In Our Planet. Here at Newday Impact, we invest in a great number of companies that we believe not only provide products and services that help our environment but also devote internal technologies and practices that benefit our Earth. Today, more than one billion people in 193 countries across our globe are called to action through various events coordinated via Earthday.org. You too can do your part by participating in those events or engaging in the 52 actions and tips they have suggested to make a difference every day of the year. Please visit Earth Day Tips | Earth Day Network for more information. Let’s all do our part!
“The ultimate test of a man’s conscience may be his willingness to sacrifice something today for future generations whose words of thanks will not be heard.” — Gaylord Nelson
