Dear Friends,
As we begin a new year, I want to thank you for being part of the Causeway community. January marks an important moment of reflection, momentum, and meaningful transition for our work together, and this month’s update captures all three.
We open with market commentary from Jason Britton, offering perspective on today’s complex investment landscape and what it may mean for values-aligned capital moving forward. Complementing that, Betsy Moszeter shares our latest impact data commentary, grounding our mission in measurable outcomes and real-world progress.
I’m also pleased to announce that Karim Shariff has joined our Board of Directors. Karim brings deep experience at the intersection of finance, strategy, and impact, and we are excited to benefit from his guidance as we scale our platform and partnerships.
January also represents a brand milestone. We are officially sunsetting the Newday Funds brand and introducing two new platforms:
- Causeway Impact, available now on the web, iOS in the Apple App Store, and Android in the Google Play Store, designed to democratize access to impact knowledge, involvement, and capital deployment into values-aligned philanthropic endeavors.
- Causeway Invest, launching at the end of Q1, which will expand access to values-aligned investment opportunities across public equity and debt, as well as private investments.
Together, these platforms reflect our belief that impact should be understandable, participatory, and investable.
In that same spirit, we are proud to announce a new partnership with One Percent for the Planet. Through this collaboration, we will introduce opportunities for Causeway’s constituents to support the Planet Impact Fund, an innovative giving vehicle that blends strategic philanthropy with impact investing. The Fund pools donor resources into a diversified portfolio of environmental solutions while granting funds to vetted nonprofits working across climate change, conservation, environmental justice, and clean energy. By generating returns that help fuel future grants, the Planet Impact Fund embodies a model of regenerative giving, where capital works continuously in service of positive planetary change.
We also want to share an update on our Clean Water Clear Vision campaign, in partnership with the Georgie Badiel Foundation and the Fred Hollows Foundation. This campaign continues to bring together access to clean water and preventable blindness solutions, two deeply interconnected challenges that shape health, dignity, and opportunity. The campaign will continue through World Water Day (March 22, 2026), and we’re grateful for the growing community of supporters helping turn awareness into tangible impact on the ground.
Speaking of impact, this month’s feature on organic farming highlights the journey of Masut, reminding us that behind every data point and investment thesis are real people, livelihoods, and ecosystems.
Finally, we are excited to announce a new strategic partnership with WeFunder. Together, we are exploring the creation of Cause Rounds, a new pathway for mission-aligned founders to raise early capital from a values-driven investor community. By combining WeFunder’s proven community-round infrastructure with Causeway’s impact vetting, storytelling, and 32M+ mission-aligned reach, we believe this partnership can help define the next generation of inclusive, impact-first capital formation.
This partnership, and everything in this month’s update, reflects a broader truth: we are at the early edge of a generational shift in how people deploy capital. Our role at Causeway is to help shape that shift responsibly, transparently, and at scale.
Thank you for walking this path with us.
I’m excited for what we’ll build together in 2026.
With gratitude and resolve,
Doug Heske
CEO, Causeway Impact
